Launch of the The Web Ninja

Hello everyone! I am delighted to announce the launch of my new website The Web Ninja!

The Web NinjaAs many of you know, although I love writing about investing and dividend stocks, you also know I have a passion for the web industry. From 2004 to 2010 I ran my own web design company, and the Dividend Ninja was my first WordPress site – I’m pretty pleased with the results and what I’ve been able to achieve. But I always felt there was more, and I always wanted to build a site about how to use WordPress, what I learned from the web industry, and how to market a blog from the ground up.

Back in October 2011 after the Financial Bloggers Conference in Chicago (FinCon11), I came up with the idea of The Web Ninja. During the conference I met so many bloggers who were in need of basic WordPress tutorials, and who were making so little from AdSense and Amazon. Yet I met others who were making fortunes from their blogs, through their own products and affiliate marketing. So for the last several months, while working and keeping the Dividend Ninja going, I’ve been following my passion. I’ve been writing articles, designing, hacking code, and building the Web Ninja one step at a time.

Of course, many other top bloggers have already created sites like this. So what could I possibly offer that they haven’t already covered? I’m certainly not a top blogger making a top income, but I’m making several thousand extra per year with only one site. I want to show you how you can apply the same techniques to your own blog. And I’m going to share my journey each step of the way with tutorials, the WordPress plugins and services I use, and a monthly income report.

I do believe anyone can make a solid part-time or even a full-time income from the web. But I also believe it takes hard work, the right focus, and old-fashioned perseverance. That’s exactly what this site is about – learning the basics, the tools of the trade, and building on them one step at a time. From getting setup with WordPress, to building your subscribers, to monetizing your email list, that is what the Web Ninja is all about.

The Web Ninja

Readers drop by the Web Ninja and let me know what you think!  The Web Ninja is open for discussion, suggestions and comments.  😉

If you are behind it then I know it will be a success. This is exactly the kind of site I have been needing, I know there are others out there but I think the fact that I can follow this one from it’s start and don’t have to look through three years of archives is a bonus. The site looks great!

Poor Student, thanks very much! And you cover a really good point of how difficult is to find info on an established blog. I’ve deliberately setup the Web Ninja to be easy to find what your looking for, you’ll see that as the site grows. If not let me know. 😉

      Cheers

Great identification of a market that needs a service/product DN. As someone who has already gotten help from DN, as well as someone who currently owns one of the sites he has designed, I can safely say he is top-notch!

Great post. You mentioned that you would post the breakdown of the income the webiste makes, do you have a link, I couldn’t find it.

I agree with you that it’s possible to earn a secondary income from a blog but it requires a lot of hard work, but two questions

First in order to make 500 a month approx how many subscribers or visitors do you need each month

And about how many hours a week do you put in maintianing your blog? Making 500 a month but having to work 40+ hours a week probably isn’t worth it.

    Thanks in Advance

      Hi Rob,

Thanx for posting. Your questions are good ones, but the answer is there isn’t an answer. There is no magic formula that says x number of readers = x no. of $, or any formula that says x no. of hours = x no. of $. In addition some people just hit the right niche and some don’t. And just like investing, you aren’t going to make money right away – it takes months and hours of hard work to build a performing site. The top bloggers spend years building their sites to get where they are.

So the answer is if you are looking for a magic formula for revenue, there isn’t one. But if you don’t invest the hours and time upfront, then you don’t have anything. 😉

      Cheers

      GTK,

Thanx! Funny you should mention that! I was looking the site over the last few days wondering what to do with it. I am going to relaunch it, less affiliate and marketing, and focus on resources and information! I have a new approach planned for it. 🙂

      Cheers
